Installing Crown Moulding

  • Choose good quality wood and the correct molding size for your room.

  • Install backer board to help stabilize molding.

  • Prime, sand, and paint molding before installing.

  • Bind adjoining molding edges with Titebond III Wood Glue before nailing in place.

  • Sand and filled nail holes with putty and then smooth surface again before applying paint.

  • Caulk the joint between the two adjoining surfaces with Elastomeric Acrylic Urethane Sealant, a plasticized sealant to help with energy transference and pest control.

  • Before applying final coat of paint, closely inspect the molding surface.

All ceiling and wall joints will be caulked (left side is not caulked yet)
